I'm not much of a fan of fuzz pedals but I knew I had to try it after purchasing the Blessed Mother overdrive which is a pedal that I'm welding to my board. As described it is a fuzz overdrive Hybrid. What it really is depends on how many gain stages you use. 1 stage =mild overdrive 2 stage Hybrid=sound, warmth, an attack of an overdrive, and compression gain of a fuzz 3 stage = all out fuzz but more defined notes and compression. It is easy to dial in the fuzz drive as it is just a few switches and choosing a gain stage. I find this pedal to sound great by itself, especially as a new flavor of lead boost, but its EQ functions are limited. To fix this add your favorite overdrive to the mix and the fuzz drive really shines. Really muddy or lack luster overdrive? not anymore! Add the Fuzzdrive in and you can get metal level gains using a klon clone or mid overdrive pedal. In case you are wondering, I have also combined the Fuzzdrive with a JHS PackRat and an Empress Heavy. Tunable sonic madness with high gain. Most surprisingly, the Fuzzdrive is really quiet and plays well with most drives even the heavy ones! I was expecting all out squeal city combining the turbo rat and the fuzz drive but the only noise came from the Rat and though it was close it wasn't in squeal territory. Bonus: Combine the Blessed Mother drive with the Fuzzdrive and you can find all sorts of sonic goodness. the EQ controls on the Blessed Mother pedal pair really well with the boosts and cuts from the Fuzzdrive. 10/10 pedal will likely stay on my board and will probably buy another just incase.
